Education Justice

Our education justice campaign aims to build power in our Black and Latino communities and fight for quality and equitable public schools for Black and Latino students in Dallas ISD. Ending the school to prison pipeline is at the core of our fight.

TOP’s education justice organizing efforts have resulted in Dallas ISD passing policies to reduce discretionary suspensions for its youngest students, curb the school-to-prison pipeline, enhance social services for DISD families, establish a community advisory council in the Dallas ISD racial equity office, and encourage participatory budgeting in its schools.
